| Native collagen type I
protein purified from bovine skin Source
Bovine (calf) skin.
Collagen was extracted from washed dissected tissue into dilute
acetic acid after pepsin treatment. Collagen type I was purified by
using differential salt precipitation
Purity
Bovine collagen type I
90%. Other non-collagen proteins below 0.5%. Structure of native
collagen was confirmed by ability to form microfibrils
Format
Lyophilized
Purification
Partial pepsin digestion
in acidic conditions and differential salt precipitation
Applications
Type I collagen standard.
Antigen for antibody production. Coating material for cell culture
studies. May not be suitable for 3-D gel formation
Reconstitution
Use 0.1 M acetic acid, pH
3.0
Storage
Lyophilized protein:
shipping at ambient temperature, long term storage (2 years) at -20ºC
or lower. Storage of reconstituted protein 1 month at +4ºC |
