Description
Defined-epitope monoclonal anti-human IgM. The advantage of clone ICL-931 over polyclonal anti-IgM reagents (such as cat. 321 goat, cat. 818 rabbit, cat. 898 sheep) is:
**Single-epitope recognition** — clone ICL-931 binds one defined site on the µ heavy chain, so every lot delivers identical reactivity. This is essential when an experiment depends on consistent capture geometry, in flow-cytometry / immunoprecipitation / pull-down / structural work, or whenever the antibody is the readout itself (cross-validation studies, antibody panels in clinical immunology).
This unconjugated 0.5 ml format is the most flexible: dilute for ELISA capture or Western primary, conjugate in-house to biotin, AP or a custom fluorophore, or use as a competitor antibody to map binding epitopes of patient autoantibodies. For a goat polyclonal alternative, see cat. 321; for high-affinity rabbit polyclonal, see cat. 818.

Applications
- Flow cytometry of human IgM? B-cell subsets (after fluorophore conjugation).
- Immunoprecipitation / co-IP of human IgM complexes — single-epitope binding gives clean elution profiles.
- Capture antibody in IgM-specific sandwich ELISA where lot-to-lot reproducibility is critical.
- Primary antibody for Western blot of human IgM heavy chain.
- Epitope-mapping and competition assays against patient anti-IgM autoantibodies.

Notz et al. used a YO Proteins anti-human IgM antibody (HRP-conjugated, at 1:10,000) as the isotype-specific detection reagent in an in-house ELISA quantifying anti-SARS-CoV-2 Spike-RBD IgM in serum of COVID-19 ARDS patients. The publication does not specify which catalogue variant within the YO Proteins anti-human IgM family was used — the monoclonal clone ICL-931 family (cat. 445 / 716 HRP / 574 FITC) is suitable for the same ELISA detection role and has the additional advantage of single-epitope reproducibility across batches. For a defined-clone reproduction of the Notz workflow, the ICL-931 HRP variant (cat. 716) is the direct ready-to-use option.
