Native-conformation bovine collagen type III (atelocollagen), purified from bovine placenta by mild pepsin digestion followed by differential salt precipitation, supplied sterile and lyophilised, salt-free, 10 mg. The extended pepsin step removes the immunogenic non-helical telopeptides, yielding an atelocollagen that retains its triple-helical structure, biological activity and self-assembly behaviour while minimising the cross-species immune response typical of unprocessed collagen. Reconstituted material gels at neutral pH and 37 °C, making it suitable both as a 3D scaffold matrix and as a 2D culture-surface coating. Cat. 576 is the bovine type III counterpart to the bovine type I atelocollagen cat. 437, and is most commonly used as the type III blending component in collagen I/III scaffolds that mimic dermal, vascular or scar-tissue ECM composition, where the type I/III ratio is biologically critical. It complements the non-sterile bovine collagen type III preparation cat. 169 and pairs with the anti-collagen type III antibodies cat. 153 and cat. 380.

STORAGE / RECONSTITUTION
Dissolve in 20 mM acetic acid. Shake or stir between 2–8 °C for several hours, or overnight, until the suspension appears homogeneous with no schlieren pattern (the optical refraction caused by uneven local protein concentration).
Recommended working concentration: 1–5 mg/mL.
Lyophilized protein: ships at ambient temperature; store long-term at −20 °C or lower (stable for 2 years).
Reconstituted protein: store at +4 °C for up to 1 month.
Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of reconstituted material.
