Mouse monoclonal antibody against human collagen type V, clone MC5-HA, IgM, 1 mL. Binds human collagen V in both native conformation and heat-denatured form (RIA, ELISA, immunoblot), with no reactivity to collagen types I, II, III or IV and no interference from human plasma proteins. Type-V-specific capture antibody: pair with the polyclonal detection reagents cat. 201 (rabbit) or cat. 417 (goat) and use the human collagen V antigen cat. 436 as the ELISA standard.

STORAGE / RECONSTITUTION
Reconstitute with 1 mL sterile pure water. Ships at ambient temperature. Store lyophilised antibody 2 years at -20 °C or lower; store reconstituted antibody up to 10 days at +4 °C, or aliquot and freeze at -20 °C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw.
APPLICATIONS
- ELISA (dilution x1000) — type-V-specific detection; use antigen cat. 436 as the standard, pair with cat. 201 or cat. 417 for sandwich assays.
- IHC, frozen sections (dilution x20) — collagen V localisation in tissue.
- Immunoblot / RIA — reacts with native and heat-denatured collagen V.
APPLICATION HIGHLIGHTS — HIGH-VALUE RESEARCH NICHES
- Classical Ehlers-Danlos syndrome — COL5A1 / COL5A2 mutations underlie the classical subtype.
- Fibrillogenesis — collagen V regulates collagen-I fibril diameter and assembly.
- Fibrosis & scarring — collagen V deposition in pulmonary and dermal fibrosis.
- Transplant immunology — anti-collagen-V autoimmunity in lung-allograft rejection.
- Tumour stroma & ECM — collagen V remodelling in the tumour microenvironment.
