Specificity
Affinity measured in
ELISA: human IgM 100%, human IgA <2%, human IgG <1%, human
albumin <0.2%, murine IgG, IgM, IgA <1%
Preparation
Purification by affinity
chromatography using immobilized human IgM. Antiserum was
cross-absorbed with human IgG, IgA, other human plasma proteins and
murine IgG, IgM, IgA
Format
Liquid formulation
containing antibody (2 mg/ml) in 50% glycerol, 50 mM sodium
phosphate, pH 7.5
Applications and
recommended dilutions
The IgM antibody-capture enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (MAC-ELISA) for detection IgM antibody, which is used for rapid diagnosis of acute viral infections. Sheep anti-human IgM, which specifically binds to human IgM with minimal cross-reaction to other human immunoglobulin classes, allows for distinguishing recent infections from older ones with precision. This specificity makes it an essential tool for detection of Zika, Dengue, West Nile, and Yellow Fever viruses, among others
