Native porcine collagen type I, purified from porcine tendon by extraction into dilute acetic acid and differential salt precipitation, supplied sterile, lyophilised and salt-free, 25 mg. Extracted without pepsin, so the non-helical telopeptide regions are retained — the native, telopeptide-intact form that self-assembles into strong fibrillar 3-D gels on neutralisation. Use as a cell-culture coating substrate and 3-D gel matrix — the native counterpart to the telopeptide-depleted porcine atelocollagen preparations cat. 785 and cat. 130, and detectable with the anti-porcine collagen type I + III antibody cat. 386.

STORAGE / RECONSTITUTION
Reconstitution: dissolve in 20 mM acetic acid at a collagen concentration of 5 mg/mL. Shake or stir the suspension for several hours or overnight at 2–8 °C. The material is dissolved when it appears homogeneous, with no schlieren pattern (light refraction caused by differing protein concentrations in the suspension). Recommended working concentration 1–5 mg/mL.
Shipped at ambient temperature.
Lyophilised protein: long-term storage 2 years at −20 °C or lower.
Reconstituted protein: store at +4 °C for up to 1 month.
Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of reconstituted material.
